TOEFL Reading

The reading section of TOEFL iBT is designed to measure learners’ competency in comprehending the various reading materials used in an academic environment. Usually, 3 to 4 reading passages are asked with each passage running up to 700 words. It is to be noted that each passage consists of 10 questions and the total duration for this section will be between 54 to 72 minutes.

Comprehension passages tests your ability to grasp the essential information from the given text material. Passages are taken from academic texts of different subjects that may or may not be familiar to the test takers. Fortunately, the answers of any comprehension exercise will be available within the given text. So, reading the material with care and attention will help you score better.
